to First Congregational Church of Norwalk

We are a community of people dedicated to human rights, justice, broad welcome and inclusion, love and compassion.  Our study and experience lead us to know these as the ways of Jesus Christ. As such, we strive to be Christian not only in name, but also in action.

Come join in the life of this vibrant community of faith.  We are growing in numbers, spirit and faithfulness every day.  We would love to walk your journey with you.

We are a congregation firmly grounded in our faith in Jesus Christ.  This faith calls us to live in ways that are compassionate, welcoming, forgiving and embracing.  As such, you will find a wide variety of people here at First Church: Dark and light-skinned; cis- and transgender; young and old; well-off and struggling; life-time members and those new to faith; children with two mothers, one parent and those being raised by their grandparents.  Our variety is wide, as is our embrace. As our denomination’s motto states, “Whoever you are, and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.” We would add that, not only are you welcomed here, we believe our church will be made richer by your presence, however you identify and name yourself.

Come, let us share the journey.

Come, let us live in the ways of Jesus Christ.

Come, let us worship God.

Farmer’s Market

The Farmer’s Market at First Church began as an attempt to offer fresh, healthy vegetables to those who, otherwise, may not get them. The Farmer’s Market runs every Saturday beginning in July through the end of October.  We conclude with a Harvest Festival complete with games, costumes, prizes, and of course the last farmer’s market for the season.

I tell all of you with certainty, whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple will never lose his reward.

– Matthew 10:42
