Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is open to those who are High School-aged through adult.  We rehearse once a month on Wednesday evenings, then at 8:45 a.m. on the mornings the choir is singing for worship.  The choir usually sings on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.

The Chancel Choir is directed by John Strybos and includes music that is more classical in nature.  Accompanied by either the organ, piano or guest musicians, the choir sings from unison up to four-part harmony.

Gospel Choir

Gospel Choir brings the joy and spirit of Gospel music to First Congregational Church.   We seek to grow both musically and spiritually through our study and performance of this music.

No experience is needed to join the Gospel choir, you will be met exactly as you are!   The choir features a Soprano, Alto and Tenor section. (There is no bass part in modern Gospel music.)   Repertoire includes Gospel music both old and new as well as some original music composed by Chris Coogan, the leader.

The Gospel Choir rehearses Tuesday evening from 7:30-8:30 and prior to worship on Sunday mornings. This choir provides music for worship:  Typically the second and fourth Sundays of each month.

Children’s Choir

The Children’s Choir meets as part of the Children’s Church program.  On Sunday mornings, all children and adults worship together for the first part of our service.  Following our Children’s Message, children go the the Children’s Church room for childcare and/or learning.

On occasion, during Children’s Church, John Strybos will work with our children to help them learn musical skill, theory, practice, and songs.

The children choir provides musical leadership in our worship several times a year.  Come and join in the singing!
